Some of you may remember that I am on a yarn diet. I haven’t purchased yarn, except for one gift purchase, since I moved to Philadelphia in March. My stash is doing fine — I have plenty of yarn to knit from. But I’ve been feeling kind of… uninspired? Desirous of something new? I don’t know. But regardless, the diet stays strictly in place until Christmas knitting approaches in earnest, and even then (within reason) I’m going to try and knit from my stash.
So that made this gift all the more precious.

Last weekend my friend Jennifer and her husband went to Portland, Oregon for a wedding, and while they were there, they bought me two (not one, but two) skeins of Lana Grossa Meilenweit in the most delightful shade of orange.

I *heart* orange (and orange, pink and yellow together? awesome!). And just recently, I noticed a distinct lack of warm colors in my 2007 FOs. Don’t believe me? Check it out. I’ve been craving warm colors as the weather hints at coolness. This yarn may be destined for another pair of knee socks (or maybe I should finish my others first!).
The best friends are the ones who know to give you yarn.
Oh, that is a great shade of Meilenweit!! Yum.
Beautiful colorway! What a lucky girl & what nice friends you have!
I will be keeping my fingers crossed for knee highs as I think a pair of them in that colorway would be fantastic!
great colors! lucky girl.
OHG! No yarn since March? And technically-YOU did not break the diet becaus eit was a gift. How do you do it? I am so impressed. I must try to be more like you.
